League Safety & Reporting
ESIHA is committed to providing a safe, respectful, and positive environment for all players, families, officials, and volunteers. This page outlines how to raise a concern and what to expect once a complaint is submitted.
How to Raise a Concern
1. Submit your concern in writing via the league’s designated email: info@esiha.org
2. Include relevant details, such as:
· Date and time of the incident
· Location (rink, game, practice, event)
· Names of individuals involved (if known)
· A brief description of what occurred
3. Do not confront players, officials, coaches, or families directly. Direct engagement can escalate situations and interfere with a fair review.
The Review Process
· Complaints are reviewed by league leadership and/or the Board, as appropriate.
· All concerns are taken seriously and assessed in a timely and objective manner.
· Confidentiality will be respected to the extent possible while allowing for a fair investigation.
· Retaliation for raising a concern is strictly prohibited. Any form of retaliation should be reported immediately.
What to Expect After Submitting a Complaint
· You will receive an acknowledgment of receipt confirming that your concern has been received.
· League leadership may request additional information if clarification is needed.
· Outcomes may include education, mediation, disciplinary action, or other steps deemed appropriate under league policies.
Emergency or Safety Issues
· Immediate safety concerns should be addressed on-site by a league official, Rec Park rink staff, or emergency services if necessary.
· Safety-related issues may also be reported as soon as possible to info@esiha.org
Scope of This Policy
This procedure applies to behavior involving:
- Players
- Coaches

at any ESIHA-sanctioned game, practice, event, or league-related activity
